Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is an image of everlasting love and affection and signifies the virtuous love between two lovers even after their decease, who esteemed each other over and above the supreme God. The monument still acts as a motivation for all individuals, who are genuine lovers of human emotions, art, and also for poets, painters, musicians who aspire to convey human sentiments in form of paintings, poetries, songs and words.

The gorgeous structure of Taj Mahal was constructed in Agra, the city situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The massive structural design is located on the embankments of the river Yamuna and comprises of a vast land at its rear end, which acts as an attractive sparkling backdrop to it. It is a mausoleum made of white marble and was constructed by the great Mughal Emperor Shahajanan, in fond memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.

The building of Taj Mahal started in 1633. It was so massive that approximately 20,000 laborers toiled for in excess of 17 years to complete the whole structure. The Emperor had fetched highly proficient laborers from all parts of India as well as from neighboring countries like Turkey, Iraq, etc. A legendary draftsman Ustaad Ahmed Lahori was chosen as the principal engineer for this venture. He was escorted by other equivalents from Baghdad and Delhi. Every sketch, every expression of Taj Mahal were communicated in great details and several experiments were performed in order to discover the correct option for each feasible artwork. Several striking components were ordered from different countries.

The chief auditorium of the monument measures almost 110 yards in perimeter and is roughly 107 yards higher than the ground level. The foundation on which the complete monument is lying is known as Mahajar-e-Mushababbak, and was specifically planned by Turkish engineers. The overall cost of Taj Mahal building was approximately 50 lakhs which was considered to be an enormous amount of money in those days.
